Show and Tell

We’re getting ready for show and tell at Astrid’s school. Mommy needs to make sure she can drive daddy’s truck still. It’s a tricky stick shift but mommy’s still got it! We printed a bunch of these pictures to show the students and then they’ll get to see the trucks! It’ll be a fun morning. 

Astrid had a great day at school and hung out with Oliver tonight. 

 

Maple

Astrid and mommy stopped by the Loflen’s today to give hugs. Their sweet Maple dog passed away peacefully on Saturday. She’s been a member of their family since before the acorns were born. Oliver was about three when the picture of her on the parachute was taken. She lived a long, good life with a network of people who loved her. May she rest in peace.

Astrid has learned that mamas cry and that it’s ok. She sure knows how to make people smile. 

 

Outside

We did lots of chores outside today. We went to the dump and took some old things that have been falling apart in the garden. It felt so good. Astrid watered the plants, mommy planted seeds, daddy lifted heavy things. It was a nice productive day at home. 

 

Saturday

We met Oliver at the mall this morning for senior pictures. Just something simple. It didn’t work out. Mommy is bummed. Oh well. Moving forward. 

Astrid was a patient sister and of course loved walking in the mall after. We like that the library is there while their building is getting remodeled. She played a lot at home afterwards and helped mommy with some chores. 

 

Letter Bags

Mommy will explain letter bags later!! Astrid won’t let mommy write right now! 

 

55 89

 Astrid has been very specific about the number of minutes she wants to stay in the bath or the number of long minutes the red lights are taking. 55 89minutes. It’s pretty cute!!! She’s definitely got 55 89 pop beads on the floor tonight! 

Mascara

Astrid had a great day at school and with Grammie. In the evening she wanted to go through mommy’s makeup drawer and she asked if she could put mascara on. She actually does a great job and we’re impressed. But we washed it off before bed!! 

 

Cranky

Astrid had a good day until she saw mommy in the afternoon. She was cranky on the drive home. Mommy was sort of cranky all day so it must be going around. She was a crank bucket in the pool with Ms. Lisa…which is fine because Ms. Lisa doesn’t let her get away with it. 

Mommy didn’t take any pictures today but she loves Astrid’s smile on Sunday do here it is again! 

 

Practice

Astrid had a good day at school and with Grammie. At home tonight she was practicing her letters and their sounds. She’s showing us how to write them all in a book she gets to use a dry erase marker in. Fun fun!!
