Smiles Forever

Astrid smiled a lot today.  First for her Aunt Ali who turned 40 something today...we're losing count, it doesn't matter anymore!  Second with Ben, it doesn't show in the picture, but she loves meeting Oliver's friends.  It's cute how teenage boys think babies are cute!  Then with Nana, we walked six miles today at an outdoor shopping mall in Carmel Mtn. Ranch.  It was nice chatting, Astrid got to eat, sleep, smile, and snuggle.  Today was a good day and we're thankful for all the people who have served our country and made days like this possible for us.

Talking about Aunt Ali and how it was her
birthday....brought tons of happy smiles!

This brought smiles to mommy.  Two
middle schoolers having lunch together.

Nana and sleeping, but smiling Astrid.

Pillows and smiles forever in the At Home store
that has everything but office stuff!

Earlier in the day, Ben and Astrid.  Oliver's
friends love his little sister.  So sweet.  And,
mommy can't believe how much the boys have grown
in the last two years!

College Grad

We all enjoyed a little neighborhood party at our neighbors house.  Same ones that threw us a lovely neighborhood baby shower for Little Astrid.  Their younger daughter, Sienna, graduated college and they had a little ceremony.  Her great uncle officiated at a makeshift podium with cap and gown and speeches.  It was wonderful.  Astrid was adored by many college girls and held for a long time by our high school senior neighbor....who is going to USC to be a nurse in the fall.  We have the best neighbors.

Julia and Astrid.

Andrea's ladies.  Abe...our cat is a big fan of this chicken
coop.  We hope he's learned his lesson though.  Don't bring
chickens home!

Garden of eatin'....our garden is on the other side.  Those
sunflwers came from mommy's seeds and also from mommy
throwing over a sunflower head over the fence last summer.

Catching Up

Saturdays are quiet for mommy and Astrid.  We ask for it.  Daddy usually goes and does truck work with Justin and if Oliver is home he is fishing.  Mommy and Astrid enjoy having the house to ourselves.  It's quiet, Astrid sleeps well and mommy can get stuff done.   She's finally getting to the blog.... she meant to do it hours ago, but laundry came first!

Here are a bunch of pictures from the last few days:

Last weekend.  Dad's favorite picture!

Astird + Grammie= A lovely walk at the
Batiquitos Lagoon.

We saw a skunk!  Grammie was fascinated and
then not so much.  Best wildlife mommy has ever
seen at the lagoon.

Guess where mommy and Astrid went???

Yes, it was the Y!  We renewed mommy's
membership.  It's pretty sad there. But hopefully
after June 15th....it will get back to what it was.
Mommy misses it so much, that she decided to
renew the membership.  Family swim is what
Astrid will start doing....if we can get reservations.

Friday Fiesta Island Night

Don't worry, we were parked.

We love being able to drive on the sand, park wherever
we want, watch Sea World fireworks, and just chill.  It
was a little cool and windy outside so we stayed mostly
in the truck.

Friday morning, Astrid worked out with
her new weights and mommy.  She fell asleep
halfway through the Les Mills Core class...but we
both got a good workout.  Look how cute she is...sometimes mommy
can't stand it!

Oops!

Mommy isn't perfect and the last two nights are PERFECT examples of that!  Sometimes sleep is more important than writing the blog.  But here are some super cute, diaper and smiles for you! Stay tunedaaasf for pictures that are fun!

Two Month Check Up

Astrid had her two month check up this morning.  Dr. Rott said that he is beyond happy with her progress.  She weighs 10 pounds 4 ounces and is doing great now with her weight gain.  Mommy figured she'd be ok, because she is so much more meaty and lovey when she holds her.  She is also taller now, all her newborn sleepers are too short for her long legs.  See her stats below:
She's tall and skinny for now with what daddy
calls a "bean head."

She got three shots today.  She took them
like a champ and only cried for a little bit.
She was done crying when the nurse was done giving them.

She also slept a lot today.  No fever thankfully.
But mommy will be alert all night.

Her other leg where the other two shots occurred.

Mommy is glad Aster's appointment went well, but she'll be watching like a hawk for any temperature changes!

Diaper Changes

Astrid is a very easy going baby.  She doesn't mind her diaper change too much, especially if you sing to her.  Right now, she's got an elephant that stares down at her.  She likes to play with his trunk and talk to him, smile at him, laugh with him, you name it!  She's also got that little pink rattle thing in the picture that she touches and moves back and forth.  She's a busy girl!

And, in the last two pictures, those are some of her cousin Shane's kindergarten work.  Auntie Jess recycles most of it weekly.  Mommy has requested she save some of it for her.  Mommy sings the bumblebee poem to the tune of I'm a little teapot and then points to the bumblebee.  Bzzz.

We'd love more of Shane's assignments if they're that fun!

Cuteness

We just had a day with a few errands, walks, naps, and lots of love.

Checking out all the colors at Sprouts.  She
loves to go on walks and look around.

In the evening we drove seven miles south to
Carmel Mtn. Rd for a DMV kiosk errand and then
a walk in a nice shopping center.  Sidewalks, safety,
good stores, and people watching.  We'll be back!

Fascinated with daddy and his bro clothes.

Fascinated with the fountain.

Mommy loves her baby but not going
out in sweat pants.  Oh well...still getting
the hang of figuring out when to shower and
put on a little mascara sometimes.

She is just so darn cute.

And so unbelievable cute in the bathtub.

Fiesta Sunday

We love going to Fiesta Island...it's easy to drive up on the beach and hang out.  We all went this afternoon.  Astrid wore her swimsuit and robe, but only got her feet a little wet.  It was a nice afternoon.  She'll miss her brother a lot this week.

Big Brother off to fish at 5:30 this morning.  Luckily,
Astrid was still sleeping, so mommy took him alone.

Sleeping on the way to the beach.

Awake and happy to be there!

We love the horses and tons of dogs with this group that
travel around the island!

Chilling the back of the truck.

Little bathing suit butt.

We had so much fun with her at the beach!

These two have the same eyes.  Mommy sees
it all the time. Do you?  Or is just her?

Look close...Corgie dogs on paddleboards.  So much fun!

Potato

Mommy doesn’t have any pictures of Astrid. She did lots of cute things today…especially at night when she was trying to extend her nighttim...
