Walking and Dinner

 Astrid had rice cereal for the second night in a row. She loves big girl eating and we love watching her eat! At Grammies today we had fun walking Grammies route around the kitchen table…we went around about five times and she didn’t even see us, giggles! Grammie learned how to put the baby bjorn on and might do some weight training + walking with Astrid! Oh and in the morning we were all up at 5:15 watching a lightening and thunder storm that shut down power across all of Escondido. It was pretty wild! Astrid is in daddy’s lap in the dark window picture! 

Running, Hugging & Eating

Astrid was busy today with Grammie, then running with Claire and mommy, then hugging Auntie Jess- like for real she reached out to her and then put her arms around her neck! Then at home she ate rice cereal for the first time! She’s like a pro and enjoyed it!! Mommy will post video once she gets it from daddy! Solids here we come!!

Piano and Pinup

Astrid was busy learning to play and rock out on the piano today both in mommy and Oliver’s arms. We got a kick out of her music! Later she decided to pose on her daddy’s Ford F-250 for some pinup pictures. We’ll be talking to her about that later. 

 

 

Conspiring

Oliver & Astrid hung out together while Mommy donated blood …Astrid was asleep in the car with her brother while the A/C was blasting…then they hung out at IKEA. In the cafeteria while Mommy went for some napkins and ketchup., she saw the two siblings conspiring together. Astrid was reaching for mommy’s salad and Oliver was carefully pushing it towards her, Astrid then grabbed some lettuce…. these two are going to keep mommy on her top toes for years to come. The mischievous sister and brother. 

 

Hummingbirds, Grand, & Titus

Astrid had a good day with Grammie and Grandpa. After our run in the neighborhood, Mommy left the front door open too long and a sweet hummingbird flew in and couldn’t find its way out. We tried a broom, a neighbors pool net, a rose from Grammies garden, and finally a chair + shoe box. The hummingbird went on its way after we left it in the front yard in the open shoe box! After that we came home and cruised Grand for a bit then went to pick up Oliver and his friend Titus at the lake. Astrid was asleep but after a bit she woke up and couldn’t stop staring at Titus. The next few years raising a teenager and a baby/toddler will be interesting. 

 

Laughing Astrid

 Mommy didn’t get any pictures of Astrid today but last night when she was uploading the opera videos to her YouTube page she noticed that Astrid’s  laughing video had over 700 views already. That’s sort of cool! Our laughing baby went sort of mini viral, giggles! 

Milestone and Opera

Happy 5 months and happy opera night at the winery! Enjoy the pictures of Astrid in her first dress up dress…that doesn’t fit anymore, we got it on her just in time! And enjoy the snippets of two women singing. We hear them from our home once a month, so we decided to make reservations. It was pretty amazing! Astrid loved it, we wished we could stay longer but we needed to pick up big brother at jj. 

 

 

Coming Home

Evenings are enjoyable with Astrid. Mommy cuddles her, she plays, taI kes a bath, has a nighttime routine and usually sleeps puretty well. Not the last two nights though…so we’re trying this magic sleep suit tonight. So far so good, but she usually sleeps well until 11:30….. mommy will update you tomorrow on how this works. Mommy just fell asleep writing, ha.

First Postcard

Astrid received  her fist postcard ever! It was from Grandpa Greg and Grandma KLou. They were in Alaska and we’ve had so much fun looking at all the beautiful pictures they’ve sent us. Astrid loved her postcard!!!
